Selling Projects
Managing Enquiries
How you handle enquiries can make or break a sale. Professional, prompt responses help build trust with potential buyers.
Responding Quickly
- Aim to reply within a few hours
- Enable email notifications for new messages
- Quick responses show you're genuine and keen to sell
- Delayed responses may lose interested buyers
Answering Questions
- Be honest and thorough
- If you don't know, say so
- Offer to take additional photos if requested
- Don't oversell or hide problems
- Provide measurements when asked
Spotting Serious Buyers
Signs of a genuine buyer:
- Asks specific, knowledgeable questions
- Wants to arrange a viewing
- Discusses practical matters (transport, timing)
- Has a complete profile
Warning signs:
- Offers full asking price immediately without viewing
- Wants to pay by unusual methods
- Asks you to ship before payment clears
- Sends too much money "by mistake"
Arranging Viewings
- Be flexible with times where possible
- Confirm appointments the day before
- Have documentation ready to show
- Allow plenty of time for inspection
Handling Offers
- Don't be offended by low offers—counter if appropriate
- Consider the buyer's position and interest level
- Get any agreed price confirmed in writing/message
- Don't accept deposits from unverified buyers
Tip: Keep all communication on the Almost Finished platform until you've met in person. This protects both parties.
