The synagogue in Sofia (Bulgarian: Софийска синагога) is the largest synagogue in the Balkans, and the third largest in Europe. It was built between the years 1905-1909 and inaugurated on the 23rd day of Elul 1579 - September 9, 1909 in the presence of Tsar Ferdinand I.
